Micronesia Branch Projects/Construction & Landscaping

We volunteer part-time to do work in the Maintenance Department, primarily in landscaping/lawncare.

One particular day, we transferred a champaign palm into the ground.  Russel started by digging the hole.

We had to cut the pot in order to get the tree out.

These pictures don't show it, but Stefany DID do more then just water!
This is Branch property.  Thus far, it's only been a jungle.  We had the land cleared in preparation of extending the parking lot.

This is 1 of 2 cement "pads" poured to install water bins.  You'll see how this develops.
Micheal and Janell Davis came in from Minnesota to help us for 1 month.  THANK YOU to Micheal and Janell.  It was wonderful working along with them and to get to know them! The bins start from the top and you work your way up.  End result...about 20' high.

Tripod cranks came as part of the bin package.  These are used to raise the roof to put on the lower rings.  It may make more sense as you see further pictures.  The other brother with Mike is Art McKinney (from Long Beach, CA).  Art and his wife have been in Guam for about 4 years.

Russel working in the wood shop working on a project on the roof.  A blind man using a saw!  No, protective eyewear.  Safety first!

Break time!  Inside, air-condition!

4 tripods are attached to each bin and 4 people crank in the same rotation to lift the bin.
And, it's airborne.

NOT a playpen!

LOTS of screws!!

Later that day, we all crashed at our house for beer, crackers/cheese.

Finished!!!  Filled with water! Or, our new WT Brewery; light and dark. : )

Another project.  This is interior foam for the making of a soundproof sound box.
The Davis' all dressed up.  This was taken at their last meeting in Guam.  Back to MN and the beginning of winter for them. : )
