Wednesday morning, I woke up at 6:40am, to the smell of cooking sausage. Yummy! I went downstairs only to be told, "No, no, no, back upstairs, your not allowed down here." So, I went back upstairs. Russel proceeded to bring me breakfast in bed. (Surprise #1) WOW! I noticed my alarm/clock was blinking (i.e.: electricity must have gone out overnight). My alarm was scheduled for 7:00. Russel then tells me, as were eating breakfast, "we don't have to go to work today". (Surprise #2) (Wednesday is a work day for us at Bethel) I said, "what?" Yes, he had arranged with our overseer, 2 weeks ago, that Sept. 11 is our anniversary and we would like to take a day off.
At 9:00am, Russel had to go run an errand, but asked me to get ready at 10:00. Bathing suit, all beach/water stuff and lots of reading material. At 10:00, we leave and go 1 mile to Pacific Island Club (PIC) waterpark! (Surprise #3) This was the 1st waterpark we went to when we visited Guam in April 2012. It also had a piece of our honeymoon to Turks and Caicos. We also enjoyed a complimentary lunch buffet in the restaurant, which was very nice!
Russel proceeds to tell me that the next thing he needs me to do is be ready at 4:00pm with "going out" clothes. However, I don't have to do my hair or make-up. So, we got home from the waterpark at 2:00. I laid down for 1 hour. I was ready at 4:00 with a colorful, strapless dress. A knock at the door at precisely 4:00. 2 sisters, Joanna (to do my hair) and Michelle (aka Mish.) our photographer for the afternoon/evening. (Surprise #4). Joanna and Russel have been conspiring hairstyles via e-mail. Joanna got right to work. Mish took pics through it all.
5:00pm: gotta go.....where? Russel and I got in the backseat of Mish's car. Mish drove and Joanna rode shotgun. Russel and I got out at curbside to DFS (Duty Free Shops). WHAT?? What are we doing here?? Walk inside right to the cosmetic department. OHHHHH, make-up by Tina, a professional make-up artist for M.A.C. We meet and she invites me to sit down in her chair. She is going to do a full-face make-up. (Surprise #5).
Hair....check. Make-up...check. Next stop....although getting a bit dark, pictures on the beach. (Surprise #6). We go to Hyatt's beach. Some pics. Then we go to Sheraton's lobby (they like their lobby better) and take inside, lobby pics.
It's now 8:00-ish. Dinner (Surprise #7) at our favorite Thai Restaurant! A beautiful, packed day with my best friend and special friends here in Guam. Enjoy!
